BOOK REVIEW COMPILATION & WWW #11

I haven't done a WWW for awhile and decided, hmm why not join in the fun again. WWW is hosted by  Should Be Reading!
To play along, just answer the following three (3) questions…

1) What are you currently reading?
2) What did you recently finish reading?
3)What do you think you’ll read next?

The Deconstruction of Professor Thrub

1) I am currently reading From A Dead Sleep by John Daly and The Detox Prescription by Woodson Merrell

2) I just finished reading Berlin Wolf by Mark Florida-James. And WOW. 5 stars. It is about a young Jewish boy and his dog trying to escape the Nazi's. So many twists and turns, I recommend it to everyone and my review will be up next week.

3) I think I will read The Deconstruction of Professor Thrub by D.D Johnston. I picked up this book based on the cover alone.

There have been three books that I've read lately that I didn't really want to give a full out review, but feel that I should as I requested them on netgalley...

A Perfect Mess (A Perfect Secret #1)

#1) A Perfect Mess by Zoe Dawson. Well the title pretty much summed this book up for me. I just didn't get into it. I felt that there was too much unnecessary information given. I did enjoy the romance that was blossoming between Aubree and Booker, but sometimes the dialogue between them was hard to follow who was saying what, and Booker is supposed to be this tough sweet Southern guy.
Lady: A Novel

#2) Lady by Thomas Tyon. I DNF this book. I gave it an honest effort,50% through, but it just didn't draw my attention. I kept putting it off until I finally gave in and quit. I am curious as to what this big secret was that Lady Harleigh kept, but not enough to keep reading. Maybe at a later date when my To Read pile isn't huge I will give in another go.
What the Dog Knows: The Science and Wonder of Working Dogs
#3) What The Dog Knows by Cat Warren. Again, another time I may have enjoyed this more. I usually love dog stories and this is about  an owner who happens to pick a German Shepard who came from a 1-birth litter. Which I didn't know happened all that much, and when it does that dog is usually a problem child. Anyways, this dog aptly named Solo is a little off when it comes to socializing and she realizes that maybe the dog just needs a job. Enter a cadaver dog...... I think I didn't really like this book because it reminded me that my dogs are kinda stupid. Things I learnt: That when a dog looses their scent, they howl because they are frustrated.. That means Tobi is retarded, as he howls all the time.

Finally a semi-decent read came next. I was beginning to get discouraged.

The Diary of Brad De Luca (Innocence, #1.5)

#4) The Diary of Brad De Luca by Allesandra Torre. This was a novella companion to The Blindfold Innocence series. And for what it was, it wasn't bad. A very quick read and it shows the beginnings of the relationship between Julia and Brad. From this I will most likely read the first of the series at least. Brad is the typical asshole who cannot commit and loves sex. Julia is more of an innocent type. Except she told him on their first 'date' that she never actually had an orgasm. I mean... WHO DOES THIS? Not on the first date! Then they go to Vegas for a weekend together, and she gets all upset that he assumes they are going to have sex. Why else would you go on a weekend getaway with someone you just met? See innocence.
