Weekly Wrap Up #4

I hope everyone is having a great weekend!  So far its been great. Mixed with relaxing, nature and some good country tunes, except I woke up with really dry and scaly hands. There may be a beauty post coming up soon... .

Thursday night, we tried to watch some horror movies, it didn't really end up that way and the 'psychological thriller' e watched (Zodiac) wasn't really that great. And way to freakin' long! 3 hours wasted for nothing. Well minus the fact that we both downed a bottle of wine....so wasted in two senses.

On Friday- the hubs and the gremlins (the dogs) went for a short little hike up in Big Hills Spring. Its was pretty fantastic with all the fall colours.  And after that the rest of the day was filled with relaxation. Oh this was also started with a delicious breakfast of coconut milk pancakes. I o believe I will share that recipe later on this week, as  I don't want to deprive anyone of it.  Also, if anyone knows any good coconut milk recipes, please share.... We bought a shit ton from Costco and well its not really good to just drink....

Saturday was the big Jason Aldean concert. It wasn't too bad. I wouldn't say it was the best concert country concert I went to, but it was up there. Jake Owen was probably the best of the three.  And during the day, because I knew I was going to be drinking lots of calorie rich beer, I worked out double time.  Isn't it funny how we can justify bad eating for a night if you worked out before, 'oh ya know, they cancel each other out.' I need to get out of that mindset and just say no to the beer..... *WAH*

On the blog:

Around the internet world:

-The lovely Mikki Fox, shows off our book club again. Be jealous.

-So, Book Nerd Reviews does a feature called Cakes Inspired by Fiction, and well they are pretty neat and make me want to bake eat some cake. This week was A Fault In Our Stars.

- The Daily HIIT (which is a great free workout site) talked about the mythical 1200 calorie myth of loosing weight.

-It's election time in Calgary, so I've been reading up on all the mayor candidates, and well  GO NENSHI! Even if you don't agree with me and you are from YYC, make sure you get informed on who you are voting for!

-This blog post is hilarious, its about people writing complaints on vacations. Do yourself a favour and read it, even if its just to make you feel 100x's more smarter than them....
Here are some examples:
“The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned to our room.”
and
"My fiance and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be re-reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked.”

And on that note:

    1. I can't believe some of the standpoints of the other candiates! I was shocked reading them. Lets hope people actually go and vote and not think Nenshi is a sure shot!
