Recap of 2013

So that was 2013. Did anyone else feel like it went by super quickly?!

I hope everyone had a great  New Years Eve! I know I did! With lots of champagne and great friends how could it not be?!

All in all I have to say 2013 was a pretty good year. And a summary for you guys who are just starting out.

The hubs and I bought our first official home. A definite step up and the place where we see us having kids. This wasn't all smooth sailing though, selling our old place (my parents owned it) was a shit show. Living in a clean house with two dogs, the ups and downs of all the showings, definitely got to us. But in the end it was all worth it because we found a pretty great place.

My sister and brother in-law welcomed their first child into the world, and so I officially got bumped off of my parent's favourite spot. (just kidding R...kinda). While this isn't the first time I'm an auntie (have two nephews on G's side) it is they first time I'm an auntie through 'blood;. (kinda sounds gruesome doesn't it?) plus we live in the same city (about 10 minutes away actually) so its a completely different experience this round.

Calgary was hit with one of Canada's worst natural disasters, the flood of 2013. Wow.  I have never seen such destruction and such loss. I also never saw how great the city of Calgary actually is until this happened. People rallied up and helped all those affected, helping clear mud and installation out of basements. G and I went to help out with another buddy one day, and it was such a humbling experience.

G and I celebrated our on year wedding anniversary this year as well. I can't believe its already been a year. We celebrated by going to Canmore and stated in these adorable little cabins. Went boating and went on a great hike, which reminded me how much I love and miss hiking.

We also went to Cuba in December with a bunch of friends. Great times, great rum, not so great food.

Started really getting into yoga and I absolutely love it. Something I am excited to keep up in 2014.

And just because I love my fur babies:

I guess thats all I can remember that happened in 2013, well all the big things anyways.
